  Billing & Insurance Information
 

Northshore Center for Gastroenterology participates in most insurance plans and we will file your insurance claim for you. To ensure accurate billing, you will be asked for current insurance information each time that you check in for an appointment.  Please let our receptionist know, if you have had any changes to your insurance or personal information

When you have an outpatient procedure, such as a colonoscopy or endoscopy, you will receive more than one bill.  One statement will be from the NSG physician who performed your exam or procedure.  You will also receive a second, separate statement from either the Winchester Endoscopy Center or from the hospital where the procedure was performed.  Finally, if lab work or a biopsy was required, you may receive additional bills for those services as well. 

If you are scheduled to have a screening colonoscopy, you may wish to verify your insurance coverage for both screening and diagnostic procedures, before scheduling your appointment.  This may change your coverage and/or out-of-pocket expenses resulting from your procedure. 

The following is a non-inclusive list of contracted insurance companies that we participate with currently.  Please be sure to check with your insurance carrier for specific benefits.

  • PHCS (Private Health Care Systems)
  • Tricare
  • Unicare
  • United Healthcare

*These products may require a referral from your primary care physician.  Please contact your primary physician's referral department for the appropriate documentation.

CO-PAYS:  

All co-pays are due at the time of your appointment.

PRE-AUTHORIZATION:

If your insurance plan requires pre-authorization or pre-certification for services, please notify our office, so that one of our staff members may assist you in obtaining the necessary approval for your visit. 

REFERRALS:

If your insurance plan requires a referral, you are responsible for obtaining this referral from your primary clinic.

PATIENT BALANCES:  

You are responsible for paying any deductible, co-insurance or other balance that is not paid by your  insurance company.  Accounts are due upon receipt of your first statement.  If you require payment terms, or have any questions regarding your account, please contact our office at billing@northshoreg.org or by phone at (847) 247-0187.

 ONLINE PAYMENTS:

Northshore Center for Gastroenterology accepts payments online. Please click on the "Pay Now" button to make an online payment towards your account.
